MetricAid, What Sets Us Apart

It didn’t take long for me to realize that working at MetricAid would be special; in fact, I knew before I even left the interview. In that first meeting, they asked me how many active cell phones there were in Canada, and I’m sure my reaction was exactly what they were looking for. I was nervous, I was under pressure, and what I made of it would be my measure.

What set the interview panel apart was how at ease I felt under the pressure, like I had permission to brainstorm, talk things out, make mistakes, and correct those mistakes, all in a matter of minutes. It was actually exhilarating and I walked away after an hour knowing this was where I needed to be. 

It’s been more than seven years since I sat in front of that interview panel and I still feel exhilarated and supported to brainstorm, talk things out, make mistakes and correct those mistakes. Ultimately, I think what sets MetricAid apart is our ability to innovate and encourage out-of-the-box thinking to solve problems all while supporting staff in a modern workplace where excellence, passion, authenticity, and kindness are our core values.


Mission and Core Values:

MetricAid was founded with the goals of reducing patient wait times, among other metrics and improving the work-life balance of physicians. With this in mind, we devote our time and resources to creating a best-in-class physician scheduling software platform and service that accomplishes our founding goals and more. Our mission is to support an environment where medicine, wellness, and caring come first. We know that we’re only part of the solution but we want to create schedules that help healthcare providers have the most rewarding careers possible by balancing their needs with the needs of their departments and patients.

Having the most rewarding career possible extends to how we run our own shop because we can’t support our clients if we don’t support our staff first. To that end, we have adopted four core values; excellence, passion, authenticity, and kindness.

We ask for excellence in everything we do because you expect nothing less. Our team comes to work with the knowledge that today will be excellent. Tomorrow could be even better but today will be the best it can be. 

We ask that our staff have passion because this doesn’t really work without it. What we do is a paradigm shift and it makes a huge difference in our clients’ lives. It has to matter, even when it’s hard. We also believe that passion fosters creativity and problem solving, which we encourage and value.

Of the four values from which we operate, authenticity is core. Be loud, be quiet, be shy, and/or be outgoing. Love dogs, sports, board games and/or travel. Being yourself and feeling supported allows you the grace to accept others and hopefully encourages you to be curious and not judgemental. 

Lastly, kindness helps us create a workplace that is safe and positive and encourages support and growth. This environment extends to the service that we provide.

Be Part of the Solution:

Collectively, our team has over 100 years of experience working in hospitals and has scheduled millions of shifts. We understand our clients’ needs, pain points and strategic goals. We also understand the strain that healthcare providers are under as they do everything to meet the growing needs of their patients. As such, we know that we are only a piece of the puzzle and we encourage other companies like ours to innovate with the goal of creating a positive environment for the practice of better medicine.
